The company existed in Hastings from 1919-1923 and then was moved to St. Paul in 1923. It was founded by A.W. Goranson who trained in the Orrefor's factory in Sweden. The company switched to lighter glass when they moved to St. Paul. A.W. Goranson and Alma Goranson acquired their stock in the Standard Engraving and Cut Glass Company in 1919 from Albin Carlson and opened their factory in Hastings. Unfortunately all company records were destroyed by Alma Goranson in the 1940s. The company operated during what is known as the brilliant cut glass era in America. At the time, America was known as manufacturing the finest cut glass.
